LEAD A SAFE, HIGH-PERFORMING MANUFACTURING OPERATION
Original Composites & Fiberglass is seeking an accomplished Plant Leader to provide overall leadership for the Amarillo manufacturing facility. Reporting to the Americas Operations Director, this role owns site performance and the plant MGL and establishes the strategies, standards, operating practices, and organizational capability required to achieve best-in-class performance.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Lead safety, security, and environmental performance
• Create and sustain a safe and secure work environment for employees, contractors, and visitors.
• Lead from a position of care for people and reinforce safe behaviors, sound choices, and accountability.
• Allocate the resources, investments, systems, programs, and leadership attention required to achieve zero injuries.
• Use clear performance measures to drive improvement, recognize safe behavior and achievements, and ensure accountability.
• Operate with zero environmental non-conformities and continuously improve the plant’s environmental footprint.
Lead operational excellence
• Advance operational excellence through disciplined operating systems that target zero injuries, zero defects, and zero losses.
• Build the standards, routines, ownership, and follow-through required to improve reliability, eliminate losses, and sustain manufacturing performance.
• Create clear line-of-sight between plant priorities, daily actions, performance measures, and sustainable improvement.
Know the business and serve customers
• Continuously build insight into the business, markets, customers, and strategy.
• Create an environment where employees are engaged, empowered, and focused on serving customers.
• Develop customer relationships and understand what is required for the company’s products to be recognized for high quality and value.
Execute strategy and drive manufacturing excellence
• Lead with a clear view of where the organization needs to be over the next one to three years and translate that direction into practical priorities.
• Communicate strategy, objectives, and expected results through effective two-way communication and achieve outcomes through the team.
• Set clear, measurable performance expectations aligned with business goals and proactively manage operating metrics.
• Lead the annual operating plan and capital budget and initiate timely capital requests to maintain or enhance plant performance.
• Align resources to business strategy and lead strategic transformation while protecting safe, stable operations.
Own MGL and operational performance
• Own the plant MGL and make sound operating, resource, and investment decisions that improve business performance.
• Balance safety, quality, service, cost, people, reliability, and long-term capability when setting priorities.
• Use business and financial acumen, data, and structured problem solving to create customer and enterprise value.
Develop a positive employee-relations environment
• Build a positive, creative, diverse, and collaborative workplace where employees own the success of the business.
• Select and train employees, provide the right tools, processes, and systems, and empower people to deliver against clear expectations.
• Monitor labor activity and maintain compliance with company policies and applicable governmental requirements.
• Establish the facility as an employer of choice and maintain effective relationships with community and governmental stakeholders.
Lead and develop talent
• Create an environment where talent is developed and employees can realize their full potential.
• Build a capable and diverse team through internal development, promotion, and external recruitment.
• Develop succession depth and align with Finance, Safety, and Human Resources on performance management and talent development.
Coordinate across the organization and manufacturing network
• Coordinate with Supply Chain, Sourcing, Commercial, and Technical teams to align priorities, resolve constraints, and deliver business and customer commitments.
• Partner across the integrated supply chain and manufacturing network to maximize business performance, lead change, and grow talent.
• Share best practices, challenge thinking, provide candid and respectful feedback, and model effective teamwork.
• Support cross-functional projects, enterprise priorities, engagement, and talent development across the business.
WHAT YOU BRING
• Bachelor's degree required, preferably in engineering, business, or a related field; master's degree preferred.
• At least five years of experience in a plant operations leadership role.
• Manufacturing leadership experience with responsibility for safety, operations, people, and performance delivery.
• Experience leading or participating in cross-functional work outside of manufacturing.
• Demonstrated success hiring, developing, and promoting talent.
• Engineering or technical background preferred.
• Strong business and financial acumen and effective verbal and written communication skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Leadership experience in a large, complex, continuous-process or comparable industrial manufacturing environment.
• Experience advancing operational excellence, reliability, and loss elimination.
• Experience leading organizational or operational transformation and developing capital strategies.
• Experience building constructive employee relations and strong community partnerships.
