About the Role

The Maintenance Team Lead is responsible for leading a small, hands-on maintenance team to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of plant equipment and facilities. This role combines daily leadership with strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting in a manufacturing environment, supporting preventive maintenance, minimizing downtime, and driving continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, supervise, and coach a team of maintenance technicians in preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance

  • Set daily priorities, assign work, and ensure timely completion of maintenance activities

  • Train and mentor technicians to build electrical, mechanical, and troubleshooting capabilities

  • Reinforce safe work practices, including LOTO and regulatory compliance

  • Plan, schedule, and track maintenance activities using SAP PM

  • Develop and maintain preventive maintenance programs to improve reliability and reduce downtime

  • Conduct equipment inspections and identify failure risks; recommend corrective actions

  • Coordinate maintenance activities with operations to minimize production impact

  • Perform and/or oversee troubleshooting and repair of electrical systems (motors, drives, sensors, controls)

  • Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems

  • Interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings

  • Use diagnostic tools (multimeters, amp probes, etc.) to resolve issues

  • Manage spare parts inventory and support procurement of critical components

  • Support maintenance budget planning and cost control

  • Drive continuous improvement using Lean tools and methodologies

  • Partner with COE and corporate teams on projects and initiatives

  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and equipment histories

  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, electrical codes, and company policies

  • Promote and sustain a strong safety culture

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Requirements

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training preferred

  • Journeyman-level electrical or mechanical experience preferred

  • Minimum 5 years of industrial maintenance experience, including lead or supervisory responsibility

  • Hands-on experience with electrical, mechanical, and instrumentation systems in manufacturing

Skills & Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of industrial electrical and mechanical systems

  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop teams

  • Experience with CMMS systems (SAP PM preferred)

  • Strong planning, prioritization, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to interpret data and drive corrective actions

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

  • Strong communication skills across operations, engineering, and leadership

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure

  • Willingness to support off-shifts, weekends, and emergencies as needed
