Are you driven by scientific excellence, structured innovation, and the ambition to see your ideas become real industrial products?
Join our international Composites R&D organization as a Senior Scientist – Product Innovation, where advanced chemistry, disciplined experimentation, and project leadership come together to deliver high‑performance composite solutions used across wind energy, automotive, construction, and infrastructure markets.

🌍 Why this role is compelling

  • Work on meaningful scientific challenges
You will operate at the intersection of organic chemistry, polymer science, and composite materials, developing fiber sizing and coating chemistries that directly impact composite performance, durability, and manufacturability.

  • Drive innovation from idea to reality
This role goes well beyond laboratory research. You will lead innovation projects through a structured Stage‑Gate process, from early‑stage concepts to industrialization and commercialization, ensuring scientific rigor, robustness, and business relevance at every step.

  • Combine science with leadership
As a senior individual contributor, you will bring together methodical experimental design, project management discipline, and stakeholder leadership, influencing decisions and outcomes across R&D, process engineering, manufacturing, sourcing, and marketing teams.

  • Be part of a global, collaborative culture
You will work in an international, cross‑functional environment, engaging with colleagues, plants, and customers worldwide, while contributing to a culture rooted in passion, ownership, and team spirit.

🔧 What you will do

Innovation & product development
  • Lead the design, synthesis, and optimization of fiber sizing and coating chemistries compatible with thermoset and thermoplastic resin systems
  • Establish structure–property relationships using materials characterization techniques (surface energy/tension, mechanical testing, physicochemical analysis)
  • Design and execute robust experimental plans (DOE, statistical analysis, data‑driven decision making) to support technical choices and trade‑offs

Structured execution & Stage‑Gate leadership
  • Drive innovation projects through the full Stage‑Gate process, from ideation and proof‑of‑concept to launch readiness
  • Translate scientific findings into scalable, manufacturable solutions, partnering closely with process engineering during scale‑up and plant trials
  • Anticipate technical risks, define mitigation plans, explore alternative scenarios, and ensure development robustness

Project & stakeholder management
  • Lead technical workstreams, managing priorities, resources, interfaces, and timelines within complex R&D projects
  • Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders across R&D, manufacturing, sourcing, quality, and marketing
  • Push through technical and organizational barriers with a results‑oriented and solution‑focused mindset

Technical influence & knowledge sharing
  • Act as a technical reference in composites chemistry and glass reinforcement systems
  • Document and communicate results through technical reports and presentations
  • Engage with customers and represent the organization at technical forums or conferences as needed

🧠 What you bring

  • Advanced degree (PhD or MSc) in organic chemistry, polymer chemistry, materials science, chemical engineering, or a related field
  • 5+ years of industrial R&D experience in composites, polymer systems, or advanced materials, with demonstrated product development and commercialization impact
  • Strong experience with structured innovation, experimental design (DOE), and data‑driven decision making
  • Proven ability to lead technical projects end‑to‑end, managing complexity and multiple stakeholders
  • Comfort working in a global, cross‑functional environment and influencing without formal authority
  • Willingness to travel up to 30%

What we offer

  • A scientifically stimulating environment with tangible industrial impact
  • Exposure to global projects and stakeholders
  • The opportunity to see your innovations commercialized and used in demanding applications
  • A culture that values rigor, collaboration, ownership, and winning together
