About the Role
The stockcut operation provides parts support to the TIP and Fabrication areas with tip section and kit parts. This position also must ensure quality parts are being delivered to internal customers on time which may require adjusting priorities throughout the day depending on business needs. The successful candidate will need to be self-aware and capable of working with others safely in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Safety
- Adhere to all OC and Plant specific requirements
- Participate on safety teams
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area
- Recognize, report and correct safety hazards upon identification
Administration
- Computer transactions
- Verifications of alloy transfers
- Inventory accountability
- Manage inventory supply for processing
- Complete and record all quality data
- Metric board maintenance
Quality
- Follow all process controls and provide documentation
- Inspect all work for accuracy
Main responsibilities
- Handling multiple ingots
- Pulling & kitting work orders
- Produce rolling tickets and ingot layout sheets
- Clean ingots
- Roll ingots to sheet stock
- Cut sheet stock into parts
- Sanding (deburring) of completed parts
- Inspect parts
- Annealing the metal
Perform other related duties as required and assigned
- Cross train on multiple assignments within the area
Qualifications & Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma / GED or equivalent
- Ability to work in a safe and clean environment
- Ability to work in a group on different tasks towards one common goal
- Ability to manage multiple tasks at one time
- Ability to use and read calipers and micrometers
- Understanding of measurement tolerances
- Focus on quality (i.e. contamination, tolerances, squareness)
- Ability to accurately complete inventory controls/transactions
- Ability to stand for extended period of time while performing job duties
- Ability to detect flaws in operation of mechanical equipment
- Ability to lift 35 lbs. or more on a regular basis
- Strong mathematical skills
- At least 2 years operating equipment in a manufacturing environment
- Participation in a process improvement activity within a team setting
