About the Role
The Warehouse Lead is responsible for the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of warehousing, yard, and internal transportation activities supporting the Amarillo manufacturing facility. This role provides end-to-end ownership of finished goods, inbound and outbound logistics, inventory accuracy, and warehouse optimization. As a key member of the plant leadership team, the Warehouse Lead is accountable for Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost performance while leading a 24/7 multi-shift hourly team.
Key Responsibilities
Safety & Operational Excellence
Adhere to and continuously improve safety policies, procedures, and standards
Maintain a safe, clean, and environmentally compliant work environment
Build and reinforce a strong safety-first culture
Coordinate inspection and maintenance of forklifts, docks, trailers, and facility assets
Warehouse & Logistics Operations
Own shipping, receiving, inventory management, yard control, and internal transportation
Ensure accurate and timely production confirmations into finished goods inventory
Lead hold-tag governance and disposition of nonconforming materials
Optimize warehouse layout, capacity, and storage utilization
Oversee internal shuttle operations and material flow
Manage and approve third-party logistics and service providers (equipment, labor, rentals, etc.)
Customer & Service Performance
Accountable for customer-facing service metrics (on-time delivery, order accuracy, complaint-free orders)
Manage service exceptions and ensure compliance with customer-specific requirements
Partner with Sales, Customer Service, and Transportation to resolve issues quickly
Strengthen customer relationships through reliable execution and communication
Cross-Functional Leadership
Lead daily alignment with Manufacturing and Supply Chain teams
Partner with EHS and Quality on safety and quality initiatives
Participate in S&OP and demand planning processes
Support inventory reconciliation with Finance and plant leadership
Collaborate with Transportation and carriers on performance and cost optimization
Lead investigation and resolution of service exceptions across functions
Financial & Performance Management
Manage warehouse labor budgets, staffing plans, and overtime
Track and reduce detention, demurrage, accessorials, and inventory write-offs
Drive root cause analysis and prevention of cost drivers
People Leadership & Development
Lead, coach, and develop a 24/7 hourly warehouse team
Foster a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement
Develop team capability through training, certification, and skills development
Set expectations and model consistent leadership behaviors
Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
3+ years of experience leading 24/7 warehouse or manufacturing-adjacent operations
Strong experience with warehouse systems (SAP WM/EWM or similar WMS)
Advanced Excel and data analytics capability (dashboards, reporting, data analysis)
Strong understanding of warehouse processes and logistics workflows
Experience leading hourly teams in a manufacturing or distribution environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or related field
Experience with TPM, Continuous Improvement, or Daily Management Systems
